The title IN DRAGONFLY SHADE / ALL’OMBRA DI LIBELLULA is inspired by a legend:
it is said that the first emperor of Japan, upon climbing a mountain to contemplate his kingdom, exclaimed with emotion:
“This island looks like a dragonfly licking its tail.”
Even today, Japan is poetically referred to as Akitsushima – Island of Dragonflies.
